Originally on display
at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., the Genome
Exhibit, sponsored by Pfizer Inc., explores the secret of
how life works, delving into DNA, the history of genome research
and how advances in modern medicine are revolutionizing the
way we diagnose and treat many illnesses. In January 2004,
the exhibit began a five-year tour around the country.
To further educate the public on Genomics and extend visibility
of the exhibit beyond the walls of the museum, Pfizer turned
to The SPI Group to create the Pfizer Genome Web site, which
essentially puts the entire exhibit (more than 32 stations)
online. The site serves as an educational resource for anyone
interested in learning more about Genomics.
To date, the Pfizer Genome site has attracted nearly one
million visitors for an average of 4,295 hits per day. The
various activity guides and lesson plans on the site have
been downloaded nearly 25,000 times.
Our work for the Pfizer Genome Web site received Best of
Show honors in the 2004 PRSA-NJ Pyramid Awards Competition.
